Christmas Play-by-Play

So last week was Christmas. What fun we had. Joel had Monday off to start the week, which was great because he cleaned up the kitchen and got some things done before the holiday. Oh, wait, go back. The Friday before Christmas was a "snow day". The boys and I stayed home and decided it was a good weekend to work on potty training. Well, Ryan did really well all day, only going potty once, but doing it right and not having any accidents. Before bed things started to slip. We did a night diaper and by morning he had changed his mind about going potty. He won't do it at all now. I guess we will wait until the next long weekend and try again. He is just not wanting to do it yet. OK, so Christmas Eve I had to come to work for a while and Joel got to stay home with the boys. I got off around 1:00 and we got ready and headed to Grandma Jeanne and Grandpa Gary's house for food, gifts and fun. We got all three. The boys each got a new truck and had a ball fighting over who's was who's. It was nice that they liked the trucks so much, I guess. They had fun and were tired when we left. Joel and I were in the gift exchange with the grown-ups, Laurie got Joel a gun case and Alison got me the new Coldplay CD. Love it! After we left Smiths' we went to Grandma Deb and Grandpa Ted's for more food and caroling. MMMMM, meatballs. Stuart played and we all sat around the table and sang. It was a very scaled down version of the parties we used to have at Grandma's, but wonderful and peaceful. That is my favorite part of Christmas I think. We finally got home and got the kids in bed so Santa could come. Always a challenge, but luckily they didn't nap that day so they were VERY tired. Santa came around 11:00 and left goodies for everyone. Nathan got a Batcave with several guys and vehicles from Santa and a letter letting him know that Santa saw him this year being a good boy and what Santa wants to see for next year. He also got bubble bath, a new toothbrush, Legos, oranges, apples and a Hershey bar in his stocking. He liked the Legos and Batcave the best. Ryan got a cool pirate ship from Santa and also got a letter from Santa. His stocking had bubble bath, a new toothbrush, stickers, apples, oranges and a Hershey bar. Ryan liked the bubble bath and toothbrush the best. After Santa gifts were played with we went down to Grandma Deb's for the rest of the Christmas presents. More toys were opened. Highlights: Nathan got a PSP and Batman Lego videogame, Ryan got slippers, play-doh, and a new baby to hug. Joel got some new sweaters, a massage, shoes, and some B&B soaps. I got some new sweaters, some dream interpretation books, and Battleship. Christmas Day flew by with a fried turkey, mashed potatoes, cookies, fudge, and family. What a great day! I will post some pictures soon.

I'm glad you had a great Christmas! Kregg misses the Christmas Eve's, too. Good times! Anyway- I'm going through the potty training thing with Mary, too. She has absolutely NO desire. But when I was potty training Karson he had no desire, either. Then one day he decided, and we never had any problems since. That's the one thing I've learned is that they have to be ready. Good luck- and Happy New Year!

Dream interpretation books? Interesting. And now, I wish I'd looked at them, because my dreams get weirder and weirder...
